NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD

Sharkskin, the original and still the best thermal layer on the market.

Sharkskin is a revolutionary technical water sports garment suitable for many different active water sports from scuba diving, kayaking, jet skiing, to water skiing and surfing. Sharkskin garments come in a large range of both sizes and styles providing the equivalent warmth of a 2.5 – 3mm neoprene wetsuit.

  • Windproof providing protection from wind chill when wet
  • Breathes to minimise overheating and wicks moisture away from the skin
  • Warmth of a 2.5 – 3mm conventional wetsuit but neutrally buoyant
  • Contoured multi panel design available in both men’s and women’s cut
  • 4-way stretch allowing a full range of movement
  • Non-chaffing itch and odour resistant inner

Sharkskin’s 4-way stretch material combined with a carefully designed multi-panel cut for both men and women provides a superior body hugging, comfortable, non-restrictive fit along with easy donning and doffing. Sharkskin is also odour and itch resistant, non chaffing, has outstanding sun protection (UPF 30+), is abrasion resistant, mildew resistant, lightweight and dries much faster than neoprene.

Sharkskin is the Australian Made product of choice for water sports enthusiasts who enjoy their sport all-year-round... Regardless of the forecast!

SHARKSKIN IS 100% WIND PROOF

“Wind proof” simply means that the garment will keep wind out. If you’re getting cold in a “wind proof” garment, then you’re not wearing Sharkskin. Always check that your  garment is actually wind proof.

To check, simply hold the garment up to your mouth and blow. If the air is getting through to the other side, the garment is wind resistant, not wind proof. Sharkskin garments are 100% wind proof and guaranteed to protect you from the wind chill.

KING OF THE HARBOUR

Sharkskin are proud sponsors of the Contegro King of the Harbour Ocean Race.

The Takapuna Boating Club brought 2010 Contegro King of the Harbour Ocean Race back to Viaduct Harbour in the heart of Auckland City.

23 knot – gusting 25 knot – winds whistled across the harbour and against the tide to produce probably the most exhilarating surfski race Auckland’s ever seen.

After speeds of over 20 km/h and averaging over 14 km/h it was Olympian Mike Walker who surged into the relatively smoother waters of Matiatia Wharf in a time of 1.29.50 with Paul Wilford hot on his heels at 1.31.05 and Tim Grammar third in 1.31.26.

In a new totally innovative approach to ocean racing this radical event involves barging craft & charter boating paddlers (single Surf Ski’s, Waka ama & Stand-up Paddle boards) a total distance of 25km offshore and then setting them off on a exhilarating pure downwind race back to shore, finishing in front of the crowds on Mt. Maunganui Main Beach.

TIM TAYLOR - NZ KAYAKER

Tim Taylor is a young NZ’er attempting to be the first to paddle around NZ non-stop. Others have paddled around NZ but only by completing sections at a time (with intervals inbetween). After paddling in Sharkskin Tim selected Sharkskin to help and assist him in this amazing quest. Tim has Sharkskin listed as a sponsor with a small review of the product on his sponsors page.
